At Moat Hall Primary Academy, we are committed to offering a whole school approach which is inclusive for all of our children. Through quality first teaching, and reasonable adjustments, using the graduated response, our provision is adapted for individual pupils. We believe that all children, regardless of their starting point are entitled to be taught in a safe, secure, stimulating environment, enabling them to achieve their full potential both academically and socially.

Our intention for Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) is to ensure that all children receive a high quality, aspirational and ambitious education regardless of need or disability. We believe that all children need to be equipped with the skills needed to become independent, inquisitive learners both in and out of the classroom.

Our provision is used to meet the needs of children who need additional support. The provision is led by quality first teaching first and foremost and supported by tailored interventions to close the gap between children with SEND and their peers. The provision takes into account the children’s needs, their strengths, their likes and dislikes and any other relevant information to ensure that support is well matched to the child.

To ensure all children are able to access the curriculum, learning is scaffolded to meet their needs , ensuring that they can, as much as possible, access the same learning as their peers. There maybe times when learning for some pupils needs to be further adapted to ensure they can make progress.
