As a school it is our duty to safeguard pupils from the dangers of the internet. However, the greatest risk for children is often out of school hours when they have unrestricted access to websites, platforms and devices. New apps are released daily so it is important that parents are aware of the risks.
Sometimes it is difficult to make sense of the huge selection of websites, apps and games available. The choices are almost endless and it's not always possible to know which are age-appropriate, which are safe to play or what content your child is being exposed to.
Below are a number of handy guides designed specifically for parents and carers by National Online Safety (NOS) to raise awareness of potential dangers that children may face when using the Internet. They also provide you with many useful tips on how to keep your child safe online.
Please take a good look as many apps, games and websites today are built to include features that we aren't always aware of and learn how to keep your child safe on-line.
