Sports Premium Information

The Government is providing funding per annum to provide new and substantial primary school sport funding. The funding is being jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport and will see money going directly to primary school Head teachers to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children. The money can only be spent on sport and PE provision in schools.

For academic year 2017-2018 Moat Hall Primary School received £19,210.00 in the form of sports funding.

Uses of funding 2017-2018

Use of Funding Impact
Used to employ a full time sports coach in school
  • Develop the PE and sport activities at Moat Hall Primary School and raise the profile of PE that will benefit pupils joining the school in future years.
  • To work alongside teachers to help them teach PE and sport more effectively.
  • Purchase resources and introduce new sports and activities e.g. basketball and handball that encourage more pupils to take up sport.  
  • Promote sport by running and extending school sports clubs.
  • Participate in a variety of inter school sport competitions.
  • Increase pupil’s attitude and participation in sport.
Number of year 6 that can
  • Swim 25 metres
  • use a range of strokes
  • perform self-rescue.
76% of year 6 pupils can swim 25 metres
